About Sifu Neil Parris

Sifu Neil ParrisSifu Neil Parris began studying Wing Chun Kung Fu in 1993 at the age of 13. He is a member of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association, Hong Kong and has taken part in numerous demonstrations across the UK. Including the British Museum, and the seni martial arts exhibition previously held at the Birmingham NEC.

He also appeared in a series of articles in Combat magazine demonstrating Chi Sau (sticky hands). In 2006 he held a workshop in Bridgetown, Barbados focusing on developing energy and sensitivity in Chi Sau and fighting situations, and has also organised and co-organised seminars within the UK. In 2009 Sifu Neil Parris took part in a record breaking demonstration in Hong Kong organised by the World Wing Chun Union.

Also in 2009 Sifu Parris was featured in an article in the Croydon Advertiser where he shared his views on how Wing Chun Kung Fu can be used as a tool in preventing violence amongst the youth, enhancing self-confidence and self-awareness. This article was written in light of the numerous knife and gun crime incidents in the local area.

Sifu Neil Parris is extremely passionate about Wing Chun Kung Fu and this can be seen by his approach to teaching. In his time learning Wing Chun, he has met many established Sifus and has tried to take something positive from each influence.
